Letter to Breast Cancer Doctors

My response to breast cancer celebration event.

Dear “Doctor”,

This letter is in regards to the Get Your Pink On breast cancer celebration event on 11 October 2023.

Are you aware that PFAS, bisphenol and phthalates not only increase the risk of developing breast cancer, but also interfere with the effectiveness of many hormone-based treatments? I would hope not, since the 'gift' of a nylon bag and synthetic pillow given to attendees contain plasticizers shown to cause breast cancer.

During the breast cancer profit celebration I attended at Martin County Memorial Hospital, it was stated that pork and other meats, alcoholic beverages and tobacco products are associated with increased risk of developing breast cancer. While the ingestion of meats and alcoholic beverages has increased over the last 50 years, the moderate increase in consumption of these products is not linear with the dramatically increasing rate of breast cancer during the same time period. In addition, the use of tobacco, a natural anti-inflammatory, has dramatically declined while breast cancer rates continue to climb.

Association is NOT causation. Maybe take some time to research how breast cancer is caused in lab animals to develop treatments for humans? Alcoholic beverages, pork, meat and tobacco are NOT used to cause breast cancer in lab animals. Breast cancer is caused in lab animals with endocrine disrupting chemicals to develop breast cancer treatments for humans. During the breast cancer celebration there was no mention of reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals, such as bisphenols, phthalates and PFAS which ARE used in the lab to induce breast cancer in lab animals to develop breast cancer treatments for humans.

We don't need a cure for breast and other cancers.

We need a medical industry that informs the public of products that contain endocrine disrupting chemicals used in the lab to cause breast cancer in lab animals to develop treatments for humans. People should be informed so they can avoid exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals that not only increase the risk of developing breast cancer, but also reduce the effectiveness of treatments for breast cancer.
