It seems that breast cancer events focus on marketing improved testing and treatments. I don't see any truly focusing on "RISK REDUCTION". Breast cancer doctors and surgeons make their living providing services to those suffering from the misery of breast cancer. There is really no motivation for them to discuss risk reduction, since fewer breast cancer victims would result in reduced profit.

Currently, 1 in 8 will develop breast cancer. 1 in 36 will die from breast cancer. Breast cancer is the third leading cause of death in women. The death rate for breast cancer has declined due to improved screening and treatments. However, the rate of developing breast cancer continues to increase every year. Maybe instead of focusing on improved painful, debilitating, quality-of-life reducing 'treatments', we should focus on reducing the occurrence of this incredible misery for millions?

For around 50 years, thousands of studies have show that exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals found in common consumer goods cause breast cancer. The medical marketing indusutry keeps people focused on diagnosing for early treatments as 'prevention'. However, diagnosing breast cancer is NOT "PREVENTION" of breast cancer. Early treatment only reduces DEATH by breast cancer.

Risk reduction is "PREVENTION". There is no way to guarantee anyone reading this who avoids every chemical mentioned will NOT develop breast cancer. For many, their fate of developing breast cancer began in the womb. However, by reducing your exposure to common consumer goods that contain chemicals shown to cause breast cancer, you can greatly reduce your risk. Those who do develop breast cancer due to genetic damage caused in the womb will respond far better to treatments, improving their odds of surviving this horrible, disfiguring and painful disease.
