Close to 20 years of activism has finally paid off.
In August of 2012, Johnson & Johnson vowed to remove many toxic ingredients from baby care products. Included are: formaldehyde releasing preservatives, triclosan, phthalates (especially DEP) and ingredients derived from animal products. They stated they would remove parabens from products intended for children but parabens (banned in Denmark and a few other countries) would remain in products intended for adults.
A group of people signed a 'Thank You' for Johnson & Johnson stating they would remove the cancer and asthma causing chemicals from certain products. At the closing of the article, it stated that Johnson & Johnson is not giving out ingredient lists because they are still reformulating and learning how to use natural alternatives to the carcinogenic ingredients they had been using. These ingredients are obviously still in the Johnson & Johnson family of products on the shelves in our stores.
It would be nice if Johnson & Johnson would disclose when they have completed the process of removing all products with known carcinogens from our shelves and have completed replacing them with far safer, far less toxic, products. Do we still have baby shampoo with formaldehyde in the Johnsons & Johnson family of baby products? We don't know for sure - Roulette with the health of our children and ourselves.
If Johnson & Johnson can't figure out how to make products without chemicals, I can teach them. It's not that hard. I used to make products without risky chemicals for Sunflower Naturals in my kitchen that I had selling in two stores. I'm sure that if I can do it in my kitchen, they can figure it out with all their fancy factories. I can sell them the recipes I created ;o) I even wrote two books, they're beginner books, but would get them started in the right direction.
With all the lies and such, how can we really believe that the products do not contain the questionable, or even banned, ingredients? You can test each bottle of each product to be sure there are no questionable or banned ingredients in the products, take the risk without testing, or use natural products and solution that have never had questionable or banned ingredients in them in the first place.
