In addition to the very interesting visitors to the web site, I have been contacted by reporters such as Steven Brill and Jane Akre, lawyers from four countries such as Michael Huttner of the US, Jacquelyn NG from DEACONS in Hong Kong, Charlie Euchner Case Writer & Project Editor Yale School of Management, a variety of whistleblowers including Scott Bartz, one of the convicted (which I cannot disclose publicly) and numerous victims. They are all using the information from the Johnson and Toxin site for their court cases and research projects asking me to do specific research in addition to what is on the site.
Yet Again, Johnson & Johnson Uses Deceptive Marketing to Increase Sales
Would Johnson & Johnson be able to make any money without lying, falsifying or misleading consumers about the size, safety and effectiveness of their products?

My first article for the new year is just another product with the same old theme: Johnson & Johnson yet again used deceptive marketing practices to get more money out of consumers. The consequences for yet again ripping off consumers: JNJ was fined an absolutely pathetic $506,000. Amazingly, the current CEO of JNJ Alex Gorsky could pay this off with literally 10 days of his 2014 salary and benefits of almost $17 million. Not much of a fine, eh? Thankfully, it wasn't another harmful drug or device causing permanent injuries, disability and even death and everything in between, it was consumer goods. This time, the strategy used was false bottoms and sides to give the impression that the product was a better value than comparable products from other brands.
JNJ got a pathetic little fine and 2 *years* to recreate packaging material that is not deceptive regarding the volume of the product. Two more years of deceiving customers, not only in California, but across the country, and likely around the world. I think a better option would have been fine them *and* have them remove all products with misleading packaging until the products were packaged without deceit.
As consumers, we need to let them know exactly how we feel by choosing to purchase fairly marketing products from other companies - preferably your local natural store. The loss of revenue from consumer goods sales will likely have a far greater impact on their choice to abide by the rules than a pathetic fine and a whisper of negative publicity.
Would Johnson & Johnson be able to make any money without lying, falsifying or misleading consumers about the size, safety and effectiveness of their products?
